Verso University: Psychedelics and the Healing Process: Science, Consciousness, and Integration

Dates: Tuesday, September 22 & 29, October 6 (Brooks Place)
Time: 6:30-8 pm
Course Details
Curious about the growing conversation around psychedelics and mental health, but unsure what to make of it? This three-session series offers a thoughtful exploration of the rapidly evolving field of psychedelic-assisted healing, bridging modern neuroscience with lived human experience. Together, we’ll explore the therapeutic potential and limitations of these medicines, while grounding the conversation in safety, ethical responsibility, and the essential role of preparation and integration.
The intention of this course is not to promote use, but to provide a clear, balanced, and informed perspective for those seeking to understand this area with greater depth and discernment. No prior knowledge is required. Skeptics, newcomers, and those simply seeking clarity are all welcome.
This series is designed for adults who are:
- Curious about emerging approaches to mental health and healing
- Hearing more about psychedelics in the media and looking for a grounded, evidence-based perspective
- Exploring personal growth, trauma healing, or consciousness in a thoughtful and responsible way
- Supporting a family member or friend navigating these conversations

About the Instructor
Jennifer Boyd, PA-C, MA is a physician associate, ecopsychologist, and practitioner of integrative medicine whose work explores the fertile intersection of science, nature, and human consciousness. She holds a Master's degree in Ecopsychology from Naropa University and a Certificate in Psychedelic Medicine, with advanced training in functional medicine, somatic therapies, and psychedelic-assisted care.
Drawing from both clinical practice and the emerging field of psychedelic medicine, Jennifer helps people navigate chronic illness, personal transformation, and the profound relationship between body, mind, and meaning at her farm-to-office space, Boyd Wellness. Her approach is intellectually rigorous, deeply compassionate, and informed by the understanding that healing is both a biological and ecological process.
