This Verso University workshop is for budding filmmakers and hobbyists trying to get their sound to the next level, using industry standard Adobe Audition software.
The class will meet for four sessions, from 9:30-10:30 am on Thursdays, February 29 through March 21. The course will meet in the Library's McCall Conference Room, on the upper level.
The workshop will cover all aspects of audio post-production: from prep, dialogue editorial, sound design, music selection and editing, and mixing. Using a short 1- to 5-minute video of yours, that you will bring to class, you will gain the introductory skills necessary to optimize your sound and create a video fully mixed and ready to upload to YouTube or share elsewhere with family, friends, or customers.
Prior experience in Adobe Audition or Premiere recommended. Participants are to bring a video of their own to work on. Participants may consider enrolling in Verso University’s Introduction to Video Editing, offered January 16 through February 6.

Requirements: a laptop with an up-to-date version of Adobe Audition.
About our Verso University Instructor:
Justin Matley is an award-winning post-sound/re-recording mixer, sound designer, and music director and supervisor who works on a plethora of television, film, radio, podcast, internet, and experiential-based projects for the broadcast, news, motion picture, and advertising industries. His projects have won Academy, BAFTA, Emmy, Cannes Lion, and Promax awards, and are featured across dozens of international festivals, broadcast networks, and digital media.
Justin doubles as a producer and creative consultant, running his own production collective, Matley Productions, focused on diverse animated, VFX, and live action projects with a backbone in education and social causes. He is also an adjunct faculty at the University of Connecticut, Department of Digital Media and Design.
