About the Speakers
Susan Granger grew up in Hollywood, studied journalism with Pierre Salinger at Mills College and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with highest honors in Journalism. In addition to writing for newspapers and magazines, she has appeared on radio and television as an anchorwoman and movie critic for many years.
Lori N. Jones, (she/her) serves as Director of Programming and Operations for the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts at Fairfield University. Since 2013, Lori has worked with the Quick team to build a nationally recognized performing arts center with a focus on new programs that support artist creative residencies and making high-caliber arts experiences available to all.
Mark Shanahan is the artistic director of Westport Country Playhouse. A versatile writer, director, and actor, he has helmed productions nationwide and created acclaimed plays like A Sherlock Carol. His extensive background includes Broadway appearances and long-term curation of the Playhouse's Script In Hand series.
Brendan Toller is a filmmaker, musician, and community organizer. His documentaries, I Need That Record! and Danny Says, explore music culture. Formerly the Marketing Manager at the Library's own Verso Studios, Toller now serves as General Manager of WPKN, where he hosts his long-running alternative vinyl radio show, Shake ‘n’ Vibrate.
Carey Mack Weber is the Frank and Clara Meditz Executive Director of the Fairfield University Art Museum. She was integral to the creation of the Museum in 2010 and was named the Frank and Clara Meditz Executive Director in 2019. Carey also currently serves as the President of the Connecticut Art Trail.
The publisher of Westport Journal, Doug Weber, will moderate the panel and will serve wine and cheese. The event is free to attend but attendees are encouraged to register here.
