Westport Together Presents: Be Unapologetically Impatient with Award-Winning Scholar Dr. Christina Cipriano

Westport Together, in partnership with the library, is pleased to present an evening with internationally recognized scholar and author Dr. Christina Cipriano, author of the best-selling book, Be Unapologetically Impatient: The Mindset Required to Change the Way We Do Things.
The event aligns directly with Westport Together’s mission to unite the Westport community by strengthening the health and well-being of youth within families, schools, and community networks. By bringing evidence-based insights and actionable strategies to local families and educators, the talk reinforces one of Westport Together's core commitments to offer empowering information and resources for our Westport families.
Dr. Cipriano is the inaugural Joseph W. and Alma W. Keilty Endowed Chair in Education and Professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she directs the Education Collaboratory at the College of Education. Drawing on a decade of research at the Yale Child Study Center, where she maintains a secondary appointment, her work advances inclusive and equitable social and emotional learning research, practice, and policy worldwide.
Beyond her academic credentials—which include more than 130 published papers and features in The New York Times, The Washington Post, NPR, and PBS—Dr. Cipriano brings a deeply personal perspective to her research as a first-generation high school graduate and mother of four. Her book, Be Unapologetically Impatient, serves as an essential guide for anyone committed to creating meaningful, urgent change in the lives of children and families.
