Y's Men's Jazz Club Presents: The Staples High School Jazz Band
As part of the Y's Men's Jazz Club monthly series, the Staples Jazz Band will play an evening concert at The Westport Library. The concert will feature a wide array of memorable jazz tunes, including a world premiere written just for the band.
According to Staples Director of Bands Phil Giampietro, the world premiere, written by Dr. Kyle Saulnier, is a big deal for his student musicians. "This work was written exclusively for the Staples Jazz Ensemble. It's a great experience for the band and an opportunity for the audience to hear a brand new piece played by top flight student jazz musicians."
