There is a great literature on leadership — on power, authority, and influence. This literature consists of classics that have stood the test of time and that are universal in their appeal and application. Initially, they will be discussed broadly, as a group. Thereafter, the course will focus on the writings of a select few, among them Confucius, Machiavelli, Stanton, Freud, Friedan, and King.

Excerpts from Leadership: Essential Selections on Power, Authority, and Influence (ed: Barbara Kellerman, 2010) will be used in class.

This class will meet on four consecutive Wednesdays in February (2/5, 2/12, 2/19, 2/26) from 11 am to 12:15 pm in the Komansky Room.

A $25 covers registration for all four classes in the series.
