This is a cumulative program and participants are requested to attend all four days.
Requirements: Windows or Mac laptop; download PyCharm from Jetbrains.com in advance of the workshop.
Learn AI fundamentals and wide-ranging uses through game creation. Explore search algorithms by developing a maze solver. Code the minimax algorithm by creating an AI system to play Tic-Tac-Toe. Understand the concepts of machine learning and neural networks.
Suhani Aggarwal will be leading this program. She is a junior at Staples High School who has long been involved in STEM, especially coding. Over the summer, she completed a course in Artificial Intelligence from the Harvard Division for Continuing Education and is excited about sharing what she has learned though this fun game-creation program. Additionally, she has developed a web app to simplify the complex process of high school course selection: myschoolscheduling.com.
This is a free program for those who attend. Due to the limited number of students, you will be charged $25 upon registration. Your deposit will be refunded less credit card processing fees upon attendance or notification of inability to attend sent to mpastel@westportlibrary.org a week in advance AND we can fill your spot.
