Voces8 is an internationally renowned, Grammy-winning vocal ensemble, reaching 30 million YouTube viewers and 250,000 live concert goers each year.
The Voces8 Foundation is committed to expanding our reach into communities receptive to benefits of music education in STEAM learning. Beginning in the Fall of 2022, the foundation launched a new hubs education model — focusing on intentionally selected schools, repeat visits to build connections, and commitments to multi-year programs of work — in five cities/areas throughout the United States. Westport has been identified as the next hub.
To commence the program locally, advisory board member and local Westport resident Randy Herbertson has coordinated the assembly of three leading Fairfield County high schools (Staples, Wilton, and Greenwich) and their top vocal performance groups with the Voces8 Foundation team and LYYRA, the newest performance ensemble from Voces8.
After a series of workshops this spring, a final performance will be held featuring these students and LYYRA on April 23 in the Trefz Forum at The Westport Library. Proceeds from this concert and further fundraising will support the ongoing presence of this opportunity for students here.
